TRUE WEST PRESERVATION SOCIETY
PRESENTS
SECOND ANNUAL FANDANGO

DURING FESTIVAL OF THE WEST AT WESTWORLD IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA

The True West Preservation Society (TWPS) presents its second annual True West Preservation Fandango and Silent Auction at the Monterra at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona on Friday, March 20, 2009. The event which features live entertainment and a Mexican Food Fiesta will coincide with the 19th Annual Festival of the West, which runs from March 19-22 at WestWorld. The theme for the 2009 Fandango is Tex-Mex and guests are encouraged to dress with an Old West Texan or Mexican flair.

Bob Boze Bell, editor and publisher of True West Magazine will serve as master of ceremonies for the gala that is open to the public. The Fandango starts with a no-host cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Mexican Food Fiesta featuring delectable Tex-Mex items from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Fandango event culminates with the silent auction bid closing at 8:00 p.m.

The True West Preservation silent auction features a diverse collection of more than 50 items that will appeal to a wide range of bidders, from original signed artwork by Bob Boze Bell and Ed Mell to a custom frock coat and vest ensemble from Old Frontier Clothing Company. Celebrity autographs will also be offered among an array of Cowboy gunleather, firearms, clothing, hats, boots and original artworks.

Formed in the fall of 2007, the True West Preservation Society is a dedicated group of members and volunteers whose mission is to preserve and protect America’s Old West Heritage. The non-profit organization strives to identify and revitalize historic monuments and icons of this significant cultural era by way of grant funding and project management. The organization is supported by True West Magazine (est. 1953) and driven by a volunteer Board of Regents.

Located in the shadows of the McDowell Mountains, Monterra at WestWorld with its warm indoor and outdoor southwestern theme is Scottsdale’s premier event venue and located within walking distance of the Festival of the West venue. The Monterra at WestWorld is located at 16601 N. Pima Road in Scottsdale, Arizona.
